The Ministry of Education is concerned about students being sent home by some schools following water cuts.

The Ministry said this is not always a good option because it leads to students missing a whole day of classes.

It said a better option is for students to be asked to bring their own water from home, which will allow them to remain at school for at least half a day attending classes before they are sent home.

The Education Ministry said school managements should also install water tanks at school, and that it is their responsibility to see that schools have water.

It further stated that grants received from government are meant for purchasing important items like water tanks and investment in such items would ensure that classes are not disrupted during water cuts.
