Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says there can be more discussion about Fiji 7s coach Ben Ryan’s future after the Olympic gold medal celebrations on Monday.

When asked by Fijivillage on whether Fiji is planning to put up matching offers for Ryan if the bigger nations are offering him a big package, Sayed-Khaiyum says it is too early to have this discussion.

Talks are expected with Ben Ryan after the celebrations however it will depend on him on whether he wants to extend his contract.

Ben Ryan has said that it was always his plan to leave his Fiji coaching job after the Rio Olympics.

While speaking to Sky Sports in Rio, Ryan said that he is leaving when he his contract finishes in September after delivering the Olympic gold medal win in Rio.

He says he will have many great memories of Fiji but he will move on.

Ryan says he wants to be a head coach in the 7s or 15s code.
