The three disciplinary forces, the Fiji Military Forces, Fiji Police Force and the Fiji Corrections Services started of the year with a religious service today.

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama says the three forces play a major role in ensuring the safety, security and defence and well-being of Fiji and all Fijians.

Bainimarama says these forces have different functions but they work together to weave the strongest possible web of defence against criminality whether home grown or from abroad.

He adds that they have grown and advanced and also have adopted to new threats and new technology, narcotic trafficking, cyber crime, identity theft, human trafficking who in colonial times would have thought that they would have to dedicate huge resources to these crimes.

Bainimarama mentions that their job is not easy but they must follow the law always.
