Economist Proffesor Biman Prasad said that he is not denying the fact there were several serious issues in relation to the country's Economy in 2005 and 2006.
However, he said it would not be right to say that the country's economy has improved after the coup.

The National Federation Party General Secretary Pramod Rae said Mahendra Chaudhry is wrong in saying that the 2006 coup has saved Fiji's economy adding that it will encourage people to do more coups in Fiji.
Rae added statistics provided by Chaudhry that Fiji's economic condition has improved is wrong and he needs to ask ordinary people about Fiji's situation.
These come after comments made by the interim Finance Minister at a press conference yesterday that the coup is good for the economy and figures prove that.
Chaudhry said current improved trends in economic performance indicate that growth is likely to exceed the earlier Reserve Bank prediction of 1.7% and exports are looking good.
