The disabled community is calling for more understanding as they have a lot to contribute to the nation.
This is the view of Soloveni Vitoso, of the Pacific Disability Forum, as he said many living with disabilities face barriers in terms of their participation in community and national levels and are forced to live on the margins of society.
Vitoso added people with disabilities should be included in decision making to achieve the Development Goals in the next 5 years.
According to the United Nations Development Fund the physically disabled make up 10 percent of the population and should be considered to achieve the development goals in the Pacific.
