New diplomatic relations will open up a lot more opportunities for Fiji.
This is the view of the Fiji Visitors Bureau in light of the recent cabinet decision to establish diplomatic relations with the Republic of Iceland, the Republic of Latvia, the Dominican Republic and the Republic of Estonia.
Board chairman Patrick Wong said that this is also an opportunity to widen Fiji's scope and develop other diplomatic relations with the countries in the northern hemisphere.
Interim Minister for Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation and Civil Aviation, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau had earlier said in his submission to cabinet that there is a need to explore and broaden Fiji's relations with the world adding that these new found relations would no doubt lend support in meeting the challenges faced by Fiji.
