Rakiraki Farmer, Dip Chand appeared before Justice Gerard Winter in the Suva High Court, to appeal for his 20 years prison sentence on 10 counts of raping three girls from Rakiraki in June 26th 2005.

Submissions were made today, by DPP lawyer, Asishna Prasad and Defense lawyer Filimoni Vosarogo to agree on the fact whether to bring the Interviewing officer, Vijay Singh in for the appeal case.

Chand had wanted to question the interviewing officer, Singh on the grounds that he felt threatened during the interview.

However, Singh who is with the Regional Assistance Mission in the Solomon Islands is expected to return later this year.

Chand of Naria, Rakiraki, was jailed in June, 2005 for raping three girls and was later convicted of murdering the three Lata sisters at Ellington, Rakiraki.

The case has been adjourned to the 14th of August this year to be heard in the Lautoka Court.
