Digicel Fiji has welcomed the Government's decision to extend the deadline for registrations under the Telephone Services Decree.
Digicel's Marketing Director Niamh Byrne said even though they have managed to register most of their customers already, the extension will allow them to send teams out again to ensure those that missed out can still register.
Attorney General and Minister for Communications Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum confirmed to Fijivillage that the government has extended the deadline for registration of land line and mobile phones for another 30 days under the Telephone Services decree.
The registration period ended on Saturday, however, Sayed Khaiyum confirmed that following a request from mobile phone operators Vodafone and Digicel, they have decided to extend the registration period until September 22nd.
Sayed Khaiyum said there will be no further extensions when the current deadline ends in 30 days.
TFL is yet to comment on the matter.
