This is a time for change for the Telecommunication industry in Fiji.
That is the sentiment of newly appointed Digicel Fiji Chief Executive Matt Davey.
When asked on whether he viewed his new post as a challenge following the Commerce Commission decision late last year to set a rate for interconnectivity between all telecommunication providers in the country, Davey said it will be a time of change.
Davey also revealed that as part of his long term plan will be to groom a local to take over at the helm.
Meanwhile, Digicel has announced their new rate of five cents a unit for all their customers.
Under the new Digicel prepaid rates that were launched yesterday, customers will see prices for calls and text messaging at an all time rate of five cents.
This will see Digicel users, paying only five cents for every 30 seconds they spend on the phone and 5 cents for a text message.
