One of the leading mobile phone companies in the country, Digicel Fiji is calling on its customers to get their phones registered by tomorrow to avoid any disconnection after the time frame for registration ends at midnight tomorrow.
The Marketing Director Fiji, Darren McLean said they are assessing what can be done for unregistered customers.
Meanwhile, Inkk Mobile's Business Manager Ajay Singh said they will not seek further extension for registration from government as it is an expensive exercise for Inkk Mobile to maintain the registration.
However, he said they will continue to register new customers.
He said as far as Inkk Mobile understands, those not registered by the deadline should have their services terminated.
However, they may join other operators if they approach the minister for some restricted services which would allow genuine customers time to register.
He is urging all remaining Inkk users to get registered before the deadline to avoid disconnections as per the Telephone Services Decree.
VodaFone Fiji has already said that customers who do not register their phones under the decree by tomorrow may have their outgoing services terminated.
Corporate Affairs Manager, Shalendra Prasad said people who will not register can expect their outgoing calls to be blocked but still enjoy incoming calls depending on the Communications Minister's directive.
Telecom Fiji is yet to comment on the matter.
