Digicel and Punjas have today announced a joint cash sponsorship of $8,000 for the three day Central Primary Schools Netball Competition.
Digicel Fiji CEO, Darren McLean says that as major sponsors of Fiji Netball events, this is their contribution towards the development of the sport at the grassroot level.
McLean says he believes that growth at that level is important for the sport to succeed at provincial and national levels.
He adds that this is the biggest netball event to ever be staged this year and he hopes for more.
Meanwhile Punjas Group Marketing Manager, Gopal Jadhav says that this is a particularly proud moment for Punjas as they are able to lend support to a sport that is popular in Fiji and it’s development.
The Central Primary Schools Netball Competition will begin in Suva next Tuesday and end on Thursday.
20 districts from around the country will take part in the competition.
