Digicel and Punjas today announced the sponsorship for the National Netball Championship to be held this Friday and Saturday at the Netball Center at Laucala Bay.
Netball Fiji President Wainikiti Bogidrau said this is the second successive year the two companies are involved in the competition as they contributed $35,000 in cash and in kind for the two day championship.
Meanwhile Digicel Fiji’s Chief Executive Officer Darren McLean said this is part of their joint three-year sponsorship which also includes the Super League and the International Series.
Punjas Group General Manager AVS Subrahmanyam said they are delighted to be part of the sponsorship and said they have come a long way since signing on as major netball sponsors a year ago.
More than 35 teams will participate in the championship in the Under-19 and the A and B grades in the open category.
Another feature of the two-day meet will be the inclusion of the Fiji Secondary Schools team in the Under-19 division.
The Punjas Digicel National Netball Championship will start at 8am on Friday with the finals scheduled for Saturday afternoon.
