Digicel Upset With FRU Treatment Of VIPs
Underwood said they are outraged that VIP guests at the Flying Fijians/New Zealand Maori match were not removed from the temporary stands earlier. He described how he and his family had to flee for their lives when corrugated iron came flying at them.
Underwood said his four wheel drive also suffered extensive damages and he will ensure that those responsible are taken to task for the poor construction work.
He said while the incident will not have any consequence on Digicel’s sponsorship, they will call on the FRU for better treatment of all their corporate sponsors as no one from the FRU has contacted him since the incident.
Meanwhile, the Lautoka City Council Clerk Pushp Raj said they hired the ground out to the FRU who had hired their own contractors to construct the temporary VIP grandstand.
Fiji Rugby Union CEO Ratu Timoci Tavanavanua nor Operations Manager Vilikesa Rinavuaka could be reached for comments this afternoon.
