With the opening round of the Digicel Cup set to kick off this Saturday, some interesting statistics has been revealed about the competition.
 
Defending champions Nadroga scored 62 tries in 2011 but found themselves not as efficient in attack last year with 53 tries.

Suva was the best attacking team in 2011 with 42 tries and Lautoka was the best attacking team in 2012 with 37 tries meaning 2011 as a better year in attack than last year.

The best defensive side in 2012 was Tailevu with 138 points conceded, while Nadi had the best defense in 2011 after conceding 172 points.

Rewa was the most disciplined team last year with no yellow cards for the season while Naitasiri and Nadi had 5 yellow cards and one red card each.

In total the Digicel cup saw 28 yellow cards and only 2 red cards last year, compared to 77 yellow cards in 2011.

Meawhile, in the games this week Tailevu will take on Nadi, Naitasiri play Nadroga, Namosi meet Lautoka, Suva host Tavua, Vatukoula take on Northland while Ovalau will meet Macuata.

All matches will be held this Saturday at 3pm.
