The Fiji Rugby Union has confirmed that the Digicel Cup semifinal will go ahead today.
This is after the lawyer of the Tailevu Rugby Union served FRU the court injunction papers to stop the Digicel Cup semifinal between Nadroga and Namosi from going ahead.
Lawyer Naomi Raikaci said she has been told by Suva High Court Judge Justice Corea to serve the court injunction papers to FRU for the Digicel Cup semifinal to be put on hold.
Tailevu is protesting that Namosi fielded an unregistered player and if the decision goes in their favor then they will replace Namosi in the semifinal.
Meanwhile, FRU Operations Manager Vilikesa Rinavuaka said they did not receive a court order this afternoon but only the application for a injunction hearing on the 13th of this month.
Justice Corea has adjourned the matter to the 13th of August for both parties to be present.
Meanwhile the Digicel cup first semifinal between Nadroga and Namosi is at 3:30 this afternoon at Lawaqa Park and you can catch a live commentary on our sister station VITI FM.
