The Digicel Fiji 7's team management is still awaiting a favorable reply from the New Zealand Government and the International Rugby Board for their approval to participate in the 2008 Wellington 7's tournament.
Speaking to Village sports, team manager, Opetaia Ravai said that as far as he is concerned, Fiji is in the Wellington 7's draws and he does not see why they should be omitted.
Ravai adds that the sporting ban only applies to multilateral sporting tournaments, hosted by New Zealand, and since the Wellington 7's is IRB sanctioned, he does not foresee problems in participating in Wellington and Adelaide.
The Digicel Fiji 7's team will be leaving our shores on Sunday for the Dubai tournament that kicks off next Friday, with Fiji taking on Argentina, at 6:14pm in their first Pool game.
