Reds winger Digby Ioane is facing a possible ban after being cited for foul play during their 27-22 loss to the Sharks on Saturday.

Wallaby back Ioane was sin binned during the match over the tackle in which he lifted and drove Sharks flanker Marcell Cotzee backwards.

SANZAR said the citing commissioner reviewed the incident on video after the match and deemed that it met the threshold for a red card for foul play.
