Health officials are calling on people without proper water supply to boil drinking water to prevent getting sick as diarrhea cases continue to rise in the Northern and Western division.
The latest figures released from the Health Ministry shows that there are 399 cases of Diarrhoea reported as of yesterday with the highest number reported in the Northern Division with 159 cases. The Western Division recorded 142 cases with the Central recording 98.
Northern Divisional Medical Officer Dr Pablo Romakin said a high number of cases reported for the Northern Division are from rural areas where people do not have proper water supply.
Dr Romakin added health officials frequently visit these rural settlements to educate them on how important it is to boil drinking water.
