High Court Judge Justice Daniel Goundar has this hour found former Commissioner Central, Inoke Devo guilty on three counts of abuse of office.
However, Justice Goundar has acquitted Devo on the remaining 6 counts of official corruption and other abuse of office charges.
Justice Goundar said with regards to the counts for which he has acquitted Devo for, the prosecution failed to provide evidence beyond reasonable doubt to prove the element of the offence.
The former Commissioner Central was charged with nine counts of abuse of office and official corruption, however the three assessors found Devo guilty of only three counts of abuse of office as they returned with a split decision yesterday.
On the 3rd, 7th and 9th count of abuse of office, the assessors found Devo guilty of the charges.
However on the 4th, 5th and 6th count of official corruption the three assessors found Devo not guilty.
The case has been stood down to 2.30pm for mitigation and sentencing.
The maximum sentence for the charge of abuse of office is 3 years imprisonment.
