A team of more than 20 detectives from Nadi, Namaka and Lautoka are hunting for a group of men who brutally murdered a 70 year old businesswoman of Nadi on Saturday afternoon.
Police sources have confirmed that police managed to confiscate a cane knife that was used to hack the elderly woman.
It has also been revealed that robbery was the motive behind the gruesome murder, as money and other items have been stolen from the shop.
Police are working on some leads and arrests are expected to be made soon.
Meanwhile, Director Economic Crime, SSP Arjun Singh has called on the members of the public to provide information which may lead to arrests soon.
The 70 year old Asian woman was found lying in a pool of blood. She was rushed to the Nadi hospital by neighbors but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
