Police in Tunuloa, Cakaudrove, are questioning a man who is alleged to have killed his wife after striking her with a torch last night.

Police have confirmed that the alleged incident took place after a domestic dispute at their home at around 9 o'clock last night.

It is alleged that the man punched his wife and later struck her with a torch.

A team of detectives led by Divisional Crime Officer Northern ASP Luke Rawalai are on their way to the scene.

Meanwhile, a 44 year old farmer of Ra charged with one count of murder is expected to appear in the Tavua Magistrates Court later today.

He allegedly kicked and punched his wife who was sick.

The woman sustained serious head injuries and was airlifted from Lautoka to Suva where she passed away on Thursday.
