Rent on commercial properties is now a free and open market as the Prices and Incomes Board has been directed to deregulate Commercial rental on all premisis.
PIB Secretary Ane Naulivou said they will no longer have any say on how much rent a landlord can charge on any commercial property.
Naulivou said tenants must read the fine print before signing any agreements to rent out a property for commercial purposes.
The PIB said it is the prerogative of the Ministry of Finance to deregulate commercial rental however, no specific reasons have been given on why there is a need to take this step.
