Digicel Fiji 7s coach Alifereti Dere has indicated that he is interested in taking our national side for the upcoming Pacific Mini Games.
Dere is confident of getting the nod.
Dere had earlier said that he wants to continue as head coach of the 7s team but he will have to await the decision of the FRU board meeting this Thursday.
Meanwhile, FRU Chairman Filimoni Waqabaca stated that transparency is needed in appointing the coach and manager for the Pacific Mini Games and they have already established a process where the appointments should be discussed and endorsed by the board before an announcement is made.
The Pacific Mini Games will be held in Wallis and Futuna later this year.
