Navua Police are questioning two men of Valelevu for allegedly obtaining items from a number of people in Navua under false pretence.

It is alleged the two with another friend bought goats, ducks and chickens from a number of farmers in Navua amounting to thousands of dollars and instead of paying cash the three allegedly gave them deposit and withdrawal slips saying that they were cheques.

The farmers who were given the deposit and withdrawal slips took it to an accountant who informed them about the slips.

The matter was then reported to Navua Police.

The hunt continues for the third man who police believe is the leader of the group.
