The Soqosoqo Duavata ni Lewenivanua said the deportation of Russel Hunter is an indication of breach of Human Rights.
SDL National Director, Peceli Kinivuwai said they feel for the family as they were not informed at the first place on the whereabouts of Hunter.
Kinivuwai said this is a major setback for the country.
Meanwhile, the National Federation Party said Hunter's deportation is just not right.
General Secretary, Pramod Rae said this latest act is very disturbing adding it would be traumatic for his family.
Rae said an explanation needs to be given as this gives Fiji a bad image.
Fiji Women's Crisis Centre Co-ordinator Shameema Ali, who was at the Nadi International Airport to fly out to PNG also raised serious concern and questions where is the transparency which is being preached by the interim government.
When Village News called the Fiji Human Rights Commission to comment on the deportation of Fiji Sun Publisher and Managing Director this morning, the Chairperson Dr Shaista Shameem referred our Village reporter to the Constitution.
Doctor Shameem said if the family thinks that Hunter's rights were violated they are free to refer to Section 23 1 (i) of the Constitution and take the matter up with the appropriate authorities.
Section 23 1 (i) states: A person must not be deprived of personal liberty except: for the purpose of preventing the unlawful entry of the person into Fiji or of affecting the expulsion, extradition or other lawful removal of the person from the Fiji Islands.
