Spraying has started in the Central and Western Divisions to get rid of the mosquitoes after a rise in Dengue cases.
The Director Health Services of the Suva City Council, Nacanieli Kotoiwasawasa said they started spraying from today to see that ratepayers are protected.
He said they have only sprayed the Domain Area today after receiving a report from the Health officials.
Meanwhile, the Divisional Medical Officer Western, Dr Tharid Ali said the health inspectors started spraying areas in each division from Rakiraki to Nadi since Monday.
He said apart from the spraying program, people also have to keep their compound and drains clean to ensure that mosquitoes do not breed in it.
The Lautoka City Council has also started spraying in many areas where Dengue cases are the highest and so has the Sigatoka Town Council.
Sigatoka Town Clerk Azmat Khan said their health section has started spraying all three wards.
