As many people have started taking their annual leave and school students are at home the demand for water has increased and the Water Department is trying very hard to minimize disruptions in water supply.
Spokesperson Sainiana Waqainabete said their leak detection programme and lying of new pipes to increase water pressure in some areas continue and with some measures in place they are trying to minimize water cuts.
It has been seen in the past years that water cuts mainly occur during this time of the year.
Meanwhile, PWD workers were working on pipelines in Nabua and Makoi, Nasinu over the weekend which caused water disruptions in nearby areas.
