The Fiji Sugar Corporation is calling on farmers to deliver enough cane to the mills for the crushing to continue normally.

Chief Executive Officer, Deo Saran said that not enough cane was supplied to the Penang Mill which stopped crushing and is expected to begin crushing today.

Meanwhile Saran said that Maintenance program at all the sugar mills have been completed.

He said the Labasa, Rarawai and Lautoka Mills have been upgraded with the equipment and technology from India and FSC expects work at the mills to be mostly completed before crushing begins.

Saran said that they are prioritising the upgrade program at the mills with the intention to produce as much as sugar as possible to be sold before the price cuts come into effect from October.
