The Digicel Fiji 7s team will have to work on their defense if they are to progress pass the quarterfinal stage this afternoon.

This is after it was evident in last night’s 28-5 thrashing by New Zealand which they exposed this area as a major weakness.

Assistant coach, Eddy Waqa will really need to fix the defense which stood out like a sore thumb in this morning loss to the Kiwis.

Fiji will take on Wales at 4.50 in their quarter final clash this afternoon.

Meanwhile Fiji beat Niue 38-0 and also Kenya 26-7 to be in the quarterfinal.

Other results, Wales upset England 21-7, Samoa thumped Argentina 29-nil, France thrashed PNG 33-5 and South Africa edge Australia 21-7 in the last game.

In the quarterfinal at 4.06pm today, New Zealand will take on England, at 4.28pm, Samoa meet Australia, Fiji faces Wales at 4.50pm and at 5.12pm France will be up against South Africa in the last quarterfinal.

The Cup semifinal will begin at 6.56pm while the final will kick off at 10.05pm.
