Defence and discipline will be the key elements for the Digicel Fiji 7s side in the New Zealand 7's which will kick-off in Wellington tomorrow.
These are the views of former national 7s Coach Josateki Savou who worked with Waisale Serevi in Fiji's last win in Wellington in 2006.
Savou recalled, when he was coach in 2008 they lost to Samoa in the quarter finals after Captain Etonia Naba was yellow carded.
He said that Fiji cannot afford to play with a player down in crucial games during the New Zealand 7s.
Savou adds that the Iliesa Tanivula coached side is capable of winning in Wellington and it will be on the players and how they will perform on the day of the tournament.
The 2010 New Zealand 7s kicks-off on Friday at 1pm with Samoa taking on France.
Fiji plays Scotland at 2.28pm in their opening pool game.
