Mobile phone users should not expect any reduction in charges in the near future even with expected competition in the mobile sector coming in later this year.
While many consumers are awaiting new players in the market, Digicel to start operations from October, ATH Chief Executive Tomasi Vakatora said Vodafone would not need to decrease its charges.
However, Vakatora said with competition, consumers can expect better deals from the major players in the industry.
Meanwhile, ATH which now owns majority shares in Vodafone Fiji announced that Vodafone increased connections to its network by 59.6 percent by end of March 2008, taking total connections to more than half of Fiji's population.
