The Transport Ministry is expected to make a decision on bus and taxi fare increase later today.
Spokesperson Sainiana Waqainabete said majority of the traveling public are dependent on the bus and taxi industry which is why government is carefully considering the concerns of all interested parties before making any decision.
She added the ministry met with representatives of the Land Transport Authority and other stakeholders on Saturday where they finally came to a consensus.
The Fiji Bus Operators Association and Fiji Taxi Union are waiting for government's decision claiming they are operating at a loss following the increase in the price of fuel.
