The Fiji Rugby Union has confirmed that a decision has been made in relation to the protest lodged by the Tailevu Rugby Union last week.

Tailevu protested that one of the Namosi players was not eligible to play for them in the Digicel Cup competition as he has not been released by the Naitasiri Rugby Union.

FRU Chief Operations manager Vilikesa Rinavuaka said the games committee has come to a final decision last night and a formal release will be made later.

Tailevu Rugby Union President Maika Rainima said they will take further action if the decision is not in their favour.

Rainima added that they received a confirmation letter from Naitasiri stating that the player has not been released from the Naitasiri Rugby Union.

Meanwhile, Namosi head coach Timoci Wainiqolo said they will not comment on the issue and have given all the paper work to the games committee.

Namosi is currently in fourth place with 35 points with no more games in hand.

Tailevu will need to beat Tavua this weekend and hope the protest decision will go in their favour to qualify for the semifinal of the Digicel Cup.
