A decision is expected by next week regarding the free to air television licenses that were issued to Channel Two Television and Talei Vision.

Both companies were handed free to air television licenses last year and as yet they have not started operations.

Interim Attorney General and Communications Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said he will make a statement regarding the matter next week.

It is understood that these two companies were given six months from the issuance of license to start their operations but the time period has lapsed and nothing has been done to date.

Mai TV is the other company which was handed a free to air television license.
