Wallabies coach Robbie Deans has warned his players that Fiji with the inclusion of Bua speedster Rupeni Caucau, will be out to cause ''mayhem'' during the opening Test of the season at Canberra Stadium on Saturday night.
As the Wallabies assembled in Sydney yesterday for their first training camp of the season, Deans admitted he did not know much about what to expect from the Fijians, but knew one player was going to give his players immense problems.
During his days as the Crusaders' Super 14 coach, Deans had to come up with ways to weaken Caucau, one of world rugby's greatest wingers, during his stint with the Auckland Blues.
Deans still shakes his head at some of Caucau's incredible attacking feats and said that he has seen Caucau do some remarkable things on a rugby field, and has done things that no one else in the world has ever done.
Deans has heard that 29 year old Caucau will appear at inside centre during the one off Test, after he recently decided to come out of international retirement to play his first international for Fiji in four years, because he wants to represent his country at next year's World Cup.
Meanwhile, Flying Fijians coach Samu Domoni Junior said he is trying out all possible combinations.
Caucau is one of Fijian rugby's most controversial figures, his career was often interrupted due to disciplinary issues, including a three month ban in 2007 after testing positive for cannabis.
In 2005, he was also banned by the Fijian Rugby Union for a year after failing to appear at some of their World Cup qualifying matches.
The Flying Fijians expect to leave Fiji on Wednesday and the game against the Wallabies kicks off at 9:40pm at Canberra Stadium on Saturday.
