Wallabies coach Robbie Deans believes his newest test captain David Pocock is better than Richie McCaw.

Deans said that Pocock is the best openside flanker he has ever seen in his coaching career.

All Blacks captain Richie McCaw, who Deans coached for years at Canterbury and for the Crusaders, is generally regarded as one of the finest opensides that has ever graced the game but Deans said Pocock is better.

Pocock is expected to lead the Wallabies again this Saturday at 10pm for their second test match against Wales, while the All Blacks will tackle Ireland at 7:35pm on Saturday as well.
