Wallabies coach Robbie Deans has denied that there is a rift between him and Matt Giteau who has been left out of Australia's Rugby World Cup squad.
Giteau's omission and the dumping of Rocky Elsom as captain for James Horwill were the surprises when Deans announced his 30 man squad yestreday.
Deans said Giteau took it well when told that he would not be part of the World Cup squad.
Deans added that Giteau who will further his career at Top 14 club Toulon is on standby for the Rugby World Cup.
The Wallabies are pooled with Italy, Ireland, USA and Russia in the World Cup and their first match will be against Italy on the 11th of next month.
