Robbie Deans may be coach of Australia but he remains a Kiwi at heart.

Deans was gracious after last night’s crushing 20-6 semifinal to the All Blacks which sends them into a third placed playoff against Wales.

Watching his side, the youngest at the tournament, be outplayed and out muscled after months of preparation and chest beating can’t have been easy to stomach.

But there was no holding back when asked to predict a World Cup winner.

The dominant All Blacks and, indeed, his home country would surge to glory against France on Sunday at Eden Park.

With his Wallabies knocked out of the tournament, Deans left no doubt who he wanted to clinch the Webb Ellis Cup.

After all, his memories as joint coach of New Zealand’s 2003 failed effort probably still lingers.

The All Blacks will play France on Sunday at 9pm in the RWC final and you can catch the live commentary on our sister station Viti-FM with Mala Veisamasama and Ilivasi Tabua.
