Daylight savings has started from today where time is now one hour ahead which started from 2 o clock this morning.

For those who still have not wind their clocks one hour ahead are reminded to do so.

Meanwhile, the Chief Executive of Fiji Employers Federation said the daylight saving has its merits and demerits.

He said he understands the government decided to start daylight saving again so that families could spend more time together, exercise and spend time in their gardens.

However, Hazelman said it also affects students, workers and businesses.

Education Minister Filipe Bole has called on schools around the country to also follow the adjusted time schedule.

Bole said while daylight savings time is expected to end in March next year, the Ministry of Education will closely monitor the situation when school begins on January 24th.

He added should there be a need to re adjust the time when school begins next year, the Ministry will act accordingly for the safety and well being of students.

Daylight Savings is expected to end in March, next year.
