Former Fiji netball coach Vilimaina Davu has guided her North club into the semifinals of the New Zealand Netball Championship in Rotorua.

Davu who is also the captain of the side helped north beat Otago 55-53 in the final round robin match last night.

North will face Southland in tonight's semifinal after the girls from the deep South sealed their place in the top four with a 62-40 win over Western.

The other semifinal will see Auckland take on Otago.

Auckland were the top qualifiers in the first division while Otago scrapped into the final four by virtue of a bonus point earned in their narrow 55-53 defeat at the hands of North.
