Former national 7s rugby coach Waisale Serevi believes that the national 7s selectors should understand that the Drifters team that will be leaving for Darwin this evening on their trip for Australia was already confirmed last year.
Serevi said that after last year’s Darwin 7s win, the side was already booked to play in this year’s tournament and they could not afford to turn the invitation down.
But National 7s rugby coach Joe Savou maintains that the only selection door for the Hong Kong 7s will be Saturday’s BP National 7s.
The BP National 7s on Saturday will be the selection ground for the 25 member squad for Hong Kong and Adelaide and also the 12 member team to Wellington.
