Police have laid charges on a 44 year old man whose vehicle veered off the road and hit a culvert in Baravu, Ba, on Wednesday instantly claiming the life of a passenger.
Divisional Traffic Officer ASP Richard Raju said the 44 year old has been charged with one count of occasioning death by dangerous driving, driving under the influence of alcohol and dangerous driving.
He is expected to appear in Tavua court today.
The deceased was a passenger in the car while the driver escaped injuries.
