England Sevens coach Ben Ryan has named his squad for the IRB Sevens tournaments in Dubai and South Africa, and Fijian-born forward Isoa Damudamu is making a return from injury, something he sees as a massive boost for England.

Ryan said Damudamu is one of his experienced players and his inclusion will only increase England’s chances in this year’s tournaments, especially after they beat world champions Samoa at the Commonwealth Games in India.

He added that England has reached two semis and a final in Dubai in the last three years, and the huge support from their followers and a really vibrant atmosphere during the series has always boosted the morale for the boys.

England is in the same pool with Fiji, France and Portugal in Pool D and the pool winners are likely to face Australia or South Africa in the quarterfinals.

Some of the players in the England squad include Isoa Damudamu, veteran Ben Gollings, Simon Hunt, Dan Norton and Matthew Turner.

The Dubai Sevens will be held on the 3rd, 4th and 5th of December.
