The Dalo industry in Taveuni is expected to struggle within the next few months following millions of dollars of devastation caused by Hurricane Tomas.

Initial damage assessment reports show that the Northern division recorded more than $22million dollars in the agriculture sector, $20 million dollars alone on Taveuni.

Director of Ben's Trading, Peni Moi who exports an average of 20 to 30 containers of dalo a month, said they symphathise with the farmers in the Northern Division, as this was their biggest market for sourcing dalo.

Moi said they will now struggle to meet their overseas demands.
