Former England 15s and 7s rugby player Lawrence Dallaglio still cherishes the first ever World Cup 7s tournament in 1993 which they won.

Dallaglio said he still remembers their semifinal win over Fiji.

Dallaglio added it was great to be playing against the Kings of Sevens at that time and also against Serevi.

He also said he was running at Serevi in the semifinal thinking that Serevi looks even more terrified than him but he managed to get round him and score the try that put them through to the final.

England is pooled with Argentina, Portugal and Hong Kong in this year’s tournament in Russia.

Meanwhile, Alifereti Dere is expected to submit his 15 member team to the Fiji Rugby Union this week before he will name his final 12 next week.

The World Cup 7s will be held in Moscow from the 28th to the 30th of this month and Fiji is pooled with world champions Wales, Tonga and Uruguay.
