Stakeholders in the Dairy Industry believe that with consistent government assistance, the industry would be able to stand on its own within the next three to four years.
General Manager of Dairy Farms Fiji Limited in Navua and a member of the Rewa Dairy Cooperative Board David Wilson said once the industry is able to support itself it could help ease the burdens of increasing prices of milk and dairy products.
Chairman of the Rewa Dairy Board Josefa Serulagilagi confirmed earlier that while $750,000 was allocated to the industry for the first time by the interim government for this year, they hope for more funding next year.
