The Rewa Dairy Industry can be self sufficient by 2015 only if we get support from the Interim Administration.

Ratu Savenaca Seniloli, the Chief Executive of Rewa Dairy, while speaking at the Fiji New Zealand Business Council yesterday said although 2007 was a difficult year for the industry, the Interim Prime Minister made a promised to the UN Food Summit earlier this month, that Fiji would be self sufficient in another seven years time which is an attainable goal.

Seniloli said that they are asking the Interim Administration to remove the import duty for powdered milk of 5% for the next 5-7 years so that they can meet the local demand of over 74 million litres of raw milk.

According to Seniloli, the Dairy industry would be the number one choice for investors if the Government assisted them.
