Police have confirmed that all the DVDs and CDs confiscated during raids are stored in a bulk room and will be returned to the owners if it is established that they are original.
Deputy Director Operations SP Erami Raibe said the DVDs and CDs are stored in a secured room while investigations continue.
When questioned whether Fiji Police has enough qualified and trained officers to determine whether a DVD or CD is a pirate copy, and whether they will seek overseas assistance, Raibe said they are optimistic that they will be able to prove in Fiji whether the DVDs and CDs are original.
However he said if the DVDs and CDs are deemed to be original, then they will be returned to the owners, otherwise it will be produced in court as an exhibit.
