The Director of Public Prosecutions has made a decision in relation to the Nimilote Verebasaga and Sakiusa Rabaka cases and has handed them to the Criminal Investigations Department.

Director CID, Superintendent Waisea Vakamocea told Village News this morning that the files were received yesterday and the police headquarters is now liaising with the Military headquarters for further steps to be taken.

Vakamocea denied revealing anything to Village News on what the DPP has recommended.

Meanwhile, eight police officers charged with the alleged murder of Newtown resident, Tevita Malasebe appeared in the Nasinu Magistrates court yesterday.

Suva lawyer Mehaboob Raza appeared for the seven accused while Semesa Karavaki appeared for Sergeant Pita Matai who has been charged with accessory to murder.

Sergeant Pita was leading the team which took Malasebe from his home to Valelevu Police station where he died the next morning.

The case has been adjourned to next Friday.
