The Director of Public Prosecutions Office is now analyzing various evidence in relation to additional charges of treason, instigating invasion and misprision of treason against the ten men implicated in the alleged plot to assassinate Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama, two interim ministers and two senior military officers.

Assistant Police Commissioner Crime Nazir Ali, who met with the DPP Josaia Naigulevu earlier this afternoon confirmed to Village news the various information has been provided on these allegations and the DPP is now looking into it.

When approached by Village News this afternoon, DPP Josaia Naigulevu said they stand by their statement issued yesterday regarding the charges.

The DPP Office had earlier stated that it has preferred six charges against the accused and after the review of the evidence upon completion of Police investigations, the DPP will make appropriate decisions on the case.

Sources within the DPP's office also confirmed earlier that no charges have been dropped, there was no confusion between the DPP and the polices and the proper procedures were followed.
